Clean Freight Coalition Celebrates Rescission of California Waivers

CFC

Washington —Today, the Clean Freight Coalition applauds President Trump for his official revocation of the California ACT and NOx regulations.

Jim Mullen, executive director of the CFC, issued the following statement:

“The trucking industry won a tremendous victory today with President Trump signing Congressional rescission of the Biden EPA’s waivers for California’s ACT and NOx regulations.  The Clean Freight Coalition (CFC) thanks President Trump, Administrator Zeldin, and Congress for this momentous action that protects the trucking industry, the backbone of the nation’s supply chain and economy.

The CFC was formed by trucking stakeholder associations in the spring of 2023 to advocate for sound public policies that promote the sustainable and affordable transition to cleaner commercial vehicles, while also protecting the supply chain.   Over the last 2 years, the CFC has added several associations which are stakeholders in the commercial vehicle industry.  The collaborative and tenacious efforts of the CFC have achieved significant positive results for the industry, including the rescission of ACT and NOx waivers.

Eliminating California’s disastrous regulations is a critical victory, but additional course correction of the Biden’s EPA’s policies is still necessary.  The CFC will continue to collaborate with the EPA and industry stakeholders to correct the Biden EPA’s ill-advised Greenhouse Gas Phase 3 and NOx regulations.

The CFC greatly appreciates the Trump Administration and Congressional support for the commercial vehicle industry. We will continue to work with lawmakers, regulators and industry stakeholders for additional critical victories.”

The Clean Freight Coalition is an alliance of transportation stakeholders committed to a clean energy future for America’s commercial vehicle industry. Participating associations span motor carriers of every size and sector, truck dealers, truck stop operators and the private bus industry. Learn more at www.cleanfreightcoalition.org
